The Environmental Affairs Office was originally created to serve as an independent quality control agency and regulatory monitoring authority for the
Water and Sewerage Department.
Regulation Compliance Support
With the creation of the Department of Operational Services in 1999, the regulatory and compliance support provided by the Office of Environmental Affairs has been extended to all areas of the new department, and includes such areas as air quality, city owned underground storage tanks, and other areas which affect the environment.
