Welfare to Work

Welfare to Work is a program funded by the Louisiana Department of Labor and is designed to transition welfare recipients into the world of work through a variety of activities, which include:
  • Community service
  • On-the-job training
  • Vocational training
  • Work experience
Other transitional services are available in the form of:
  • Child care assistance
  • Employment related expenses
  • Financial counseling
  • Housing assistance
  • Job coaching
  • Occupational assessment
  • Substance abuse counseling and referral
  • Transportation assistance
